Your data is stored securely on MongoDB databases hosted by Railway. We implement:

3.2 Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.
4. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
4.1 Google APIs
If you choose to connect Google Sheets or Google Drive, Tally uses Google APIs to:
- Read spreadsheet data you explicitly authorize
- Import transaction data from your Google Sheets
- Sync financial information with your Google Drive files
Tally's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We only request the minimum permissions necessary and will never:
- Access Google data beyond what you explicitly authorize
- Share your Google data with other users or third parties
- Use your Google data for advertising or other non-Tally purposes
4.2 Monzo Integration
If you connect your Monzo account, we access transaction data through Monzo's official API with your explicit consent. We only read data necessary for Tally's functionality and never initiate payments or modifications to your Monzo account.
4.3 No Other Third-Party Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your information with any other third parties except:
- When required by law or legal process
- To protect our rights or the safety of our users
- With service providers who help us operate Tally (hosting, database services) under strict confidentiality agreements
5. Your Rights and Controls
5.1 Access and Portability
You can access, download, or export all your data at any time through your Tally account settings.
5.2 Data Correction
You can edit or update your financial information directly within the Tally app at any time.
5.3 Account Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data with one click in your account preferences. This action:
- Permanently deletes all your financial data
- Removes all transaction history
- Revokes all connected account authorizations
- Cannot be undone
5.4 Connected Account Revocation
You can disconnect Monzo, Google Sheets, or Google Drive at any time through your Tally settings. This immediately revokes Tally's access to those services.
6. Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- End-to-end encryption for data in transit
- Encrypted database storage
- Secure password hashing (bcrypt)
- Regular security audits and penetration testing
- Access controls and authentication protocols
- Monitoring for suspicious activity
However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Tally uses minimal cookies and local storage to:
- Keep you logged in to your account
- Remember your preferences
- Improve app performance
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

9. International Users
Tally is operated from the United Kingdom. If you are accessing Tally from outside the UK, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the UK. By using Tally, you consent to this transfer.
